Fleeing from his murderous brother Esau, Yaakov had, perhaps, reached the low point in his life. But it was precisely at this moment that he had the courage and the vision to dream of a House of G-d. Responding to Yaakov's vision, HaShem promised him that his children would spread to the west and the east, the north and the south, and that through his seed, "the families of the earth" shall be blessed.
