Tim Vosse: A Problem Solver with a New Paradigm for Seniors
Tim Vosse is an expert in the senior living space.  In this episode, he talks about the presence of his family, a desire to make an impact, listening more than talking, understanding the end game, using your voice, and we have a deeper dive into elder care.Tim is a St. Louis metro native, a CPA, with a B.S. in Accounting from Illinois State University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.  He worked in public accounting before moving into CFO roles for senior care facilities.  Throughout Tim's 20+ years at Bethesda and Friendship Village, his passion for Seniors grew stronger.  He recognized senior communities are wonderful places for Seniors to move into.  But one thing was concerning:  the number of Seniors who said “my kids made me move here” or “I would rather still live in my home”.  It was clear that there is no current solution that helps Seniors keep their voice, live at home longer, with purpose and an enhanced quality of life.  Tim also saw family relationships break down, as roles change over time when families become caregivers.  So, Tim created My Circle with a vision to help Seniors live in their home forever and enhance their quality of life as well as their families.  Evaluating the current situation and needs, My Circle problem solves and proactively plans for a future the family desires.  To reach Tim and My Circle:314-780-0045 www.mycircle365.com  info@mycircle365.comTo learn more, visit:linkedin.com/in/jason-Shupp-18b4619bListen to more episodes on Mission Matters:https://missionmatters.com/author/Jason-Shupp/

Craig Williams: A Clever Way to Help (Rural) Students

Craig Williams: A Clever Way to Help (Rural) Students
Craig Williams is a storyteller and youth advocate.  In this episode, Craig shares a personal story that was a catalyst to cleverness, how loss led to entrepreneurialism;  he discusses the consistent intersection of his past skills to uncover new opportunities, the power of story, going analog, dreaming big, and we deep dive into the relationship between communities and their schools.Craig Williams is the  Founder and Chief Engagement Officer of Journey12. Williams identifies, most notably, as a husband and father of three.  He is a full-time self-described 'treehouse dad,' an advocate for kids, and an unrepentant storyteller. Williams came to his advocacy for rural public education, and a love for the children it serves, through an unlikely, circuitous route. Williams had an epiphany that solid, story-based communication—and the buy-in it creates—between schools and the communities they serve, was the most alterable x-factor toward driving stronger student outcomes. That epiphany, piled atop more than four decades of scaling entrepreneurial startups, serving on various non-profit, community, and school boards, and wanting the best for his own children, was the genesis of Journey12. Williams holds an MBA from Washington University in Saint Louis, though he'd be the first to tell you he prefers bootstrapping an idea out of nothing to performing regression analyses or spending his days in corporate boardrooms—something which he has staunchly avoided in his career. Today, Craig's professional focus is on helping rural public schools build more durable bridges to every taxpayer in the communities they serve, and helping the students who attend those schools find their best post-secondary outcomes. To learn more about Craig Williams, visit:https://www.journey12.com/To learn more, visit:linkedin.com/in/jason-Shupp-18b4619bListen to more episodes on Mission Matters:https://missionmatters.com/author/Jason-Shupp/

Ryan Klingensmith: A Mental Health Expert Shapes the Future
Ryan Klingensmith is a mental health expert and pioneer of youth digital stewardship through his organization Shape the Sky. In this episode, Ryan talks about the value of believing in oneself, the importance of confidence, curating your time, and being there for anybody who wants to be saved.  Ryan shares many insights in the mental health industry and him and Jason talk about the present day intersection of youth, technology, and mental health.Ryan Klingensmith, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), is the founder of Shape the Sky. Ryan started his career in 1994, where he worked at an inpatient psychiatric hospital for teens diagnosed with a mental health disorder. He also worked in residential treatment facilities, teen shelters, and group homes for children and teens. In 2010, Ryan began providing outpatient mental health therapy for youth, and he also began working in Student Assistance Programs (SAPs) in Pennsylvania to present about drug and alcohol prevention. When he was working with middle school and high school students, he noticed the mistakes and misuse of social media. Shape the Sky was born when he identified a need for comprehensive, ongoing education about social media for parents, school personnel, law-enforcement and mental health providers. With technology and social media usage growing, the need to educate invested adults is growing too. With Ryan’s background in mental health and knowledge of social media, he developed a series of training programs to inform adults about current youth culture online, the mental health implications of social media, and general misuse of technology by kids and teens. Once they have a better awareness and understanding of what’s happening online, adults can use their wisdom to keep kids safe. To Learn more about Ryan, visit:www.shapethesky.orgryank@shapethesky.orgTo learn more, visit:linkedin.com/in/jason-Shupp-18b4619bListen to more episodes on Mission Matters:https://missionmatters.com/author/Jason-Shupp/
