My love of Jody Watley goes all the way back to the first time I heard "The Second Time Around." The year was 1979 and I was a 4-year-old kid who loved to dance and sing along to this song. Even then, there was something about the vocal styling of Jody Watley that appealed to me and I became an instant admirer. As the years went by and the hits kept coming, I grew more and more fond of Jody Watley. When she released her classic, self-titled debut in 1987, it would have a permanent place in my Sony Walkman. She has always been one of my favorite entertainers and she is an icon in the truest sense of the word. On this broadcast of The Soul Brother Show, which originally aired on Friday, September 23, 2016 during the 2-5am airing, Jody and I discuss her legacy as a trendsetter as we discuss everything from her unique sense of fashion to her recent post about Shalamar that's got everybody talking. It was an unforgettable conversation and I am truly grateful to get to have an in-depth conversation with one of my musical idols. Ladies and gentlemen, the legendary Ms. Jody Watley!
